  • Overview

    At Farivew Range, the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant is responsible for medical care of patients triaged to the Urgent Care Department during assigned shifts.

    Responsibilities/Job Description

    • Clinical Practice: Provides safe care in a systemic way to include the assessment and overall care management of a specified patient population under the supervision of an MD. Exercises independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of medical processes and procedures in line with scope of practice as NP or PA. Has specialized knowledge and skill on matters of urgent care, pharmacology and education.
    • Teamwork: Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others. Has respect for and understanding of other clinical disciplines. Uses an integrated approach to patient outcomes.
    • Qualtiy/Best Practice: Utilizes standards, guidelines, and protocols for care delivery. Incorporates data and information to continuously improve care and practice to enhance outcomes

    Qualifications

    • Progressive clinical experience.
    • Masters degree in advanced practice nursing or Physician Assistant studies.
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a masters or doctorate degree as an Advanced Practice OR Graduate of an accredited school of Physician Assistant studies with a masters or doctorate degree.
    • Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner license from MN Board of Nursing. Physician Assistant studies certification.
    • Clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a Primary Care or Urgent Care setting preferred.
    • Doctorate degree in advanced practice nursing or Physician Assistant studies preferred.
