This is a temporary full time position that will be effective until December 24th. This position includes day plus call and weekend call.
Provides perioperative nursing care and oversees the delivery of care to patients undergoing operative or other invasive procedures when functioning as charge nurse. Performs other duties as assigned.
Provides direct patient care with regard to the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual well-being of the patient using the nursing process.
Participates in performing a total assessment according to established policies (including physical, psychosocially and spiritual data) upon admission, as well as ongoing assessments.
Demonstrates awareness of age-specific criteria in obtaining assessment data.
Analyzes assessment data, identifies problems and develops the plan of care in collaboration with the patient, significant other and resource personnel.
Identifies patient needs and/or nursing diagnosis based on analysis of collected data and incorporates into an individualized plan of care.
1 year recent OR RN Circulation experience in a multispecialty setting. Completion of Peri-op 101 course may be used in lieu of the above experience requirements. If no applicants meet the postion qualifications consideration with be given to those applicants who have one year Medical/Surgical experience and attend BLS within 3 months and ACLS within 6 months of employment. 2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technician may be used in lieu of the above experience and/or peri-op course requirement. Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Minnesota required. Bachelor degree in Nursing preferred. Previous Operating room experience.
