    ****48-60 hours per pay period/ Days,Nights,11a-11p/ Weekend B rotation****


    Provides direct nursing care to patients as well as indirect care within the Emergency Department/Urgent Care oversees unit operations for a shift when functioning as charge nurse.

    Responsibilities/Job Description

    • Performs a primary, secondary and focused survey according to established policies.
    • Demonstrates awareness of age-specific criteria in obtaining assessment data.
    • Identifies patient needs and/or nursing diagnosis based on analysis of collected data and incorporates into an individualized plan of care.
    • Analyzes assessment data, identifies problems and develops the plan of care in collaboration with the patient, significant other and resource personnel.
    • Provides age specific direct patient care in collaboration with all disciplines according to standards of care.
    • Recognizes and reports adverse patient condition to the physician in a timely manner.


    • Knowledge of nursing process for all ages. Provide direct patient care for all disease and injury presentations. Knowledge of and able to function in team nursing. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Able to receive and deliver direction from all members of ED/UC/ED Outpatient Infusions team. Able to effectively prioritize and function in high stress situations.
    • Will consider minimum of 1 year critical care experience within past year with an additional 4 years of Medical/Surgical/Pediatric experience if no candidate meets preferred experience criteria.
    • Current Minnesota RN licensure. Current BLS certification required and maintains certification. Current ACLS, TNCC, PALS certification or attains ACLS and PALS within three months and TNCC within 1 year.
    • 2 Years of Level 3 or > Emergency Department or 3 years of ICU experience preferred.
